Mumbai, July 31, 2020: Capri Global Capital Ltd (CGCL), a diversified NBFC in the MSME and Affordable Housing sector, has reported an AUM of Rs. 40.5 Bn in Q1 FY21. The consolidated net worth of the company stood at Rs. 15.8 Bn in Q1 FY21.


MSME continue to be the focussed sector contributing to around 51% of total AUM. CGCL has active relationships of over 12,040 businesses ending Q1 FY21 across several states in India ranging from retail outlets to small manufacturing units, traders to private schools. CGCL continues focussing on Tier 3 & 4 cities. The well-established and in-depth knowledge of micro markets has helped CGCL to maintain a good asset quality and keep the loan book granular. 


The Housing Finance contributes to ~23% of the total AUM. Under the Affordable Housing Finance business targeting Tier 2 & 3 cities, the company has already empowered over 9,600 families to realise the dream of owning their own home. CGCL has entered an MOU with NHB as a Primary Lending Institution (PLI) to facilitate subsidy to its qualifying borrowers under the CLSS.

*HCL Grant Announces Edition VI; Application Portal is Live Now*

HCL Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of HCL Technologies (HCL), announces the opening of the application portal for Edition VI of HCL Grant, one of the most coveted institutionalized CSR grants of India. HCL Grant is a flagship program of HCL Foundation which recognizes the rise of the community-led ecosystem of NGOs -- the Fifth Estate. It recognizes the path-breaking work being done by NGOs in rural development through an independent, robust and democratic process. 


The Grant is applicable for NGOs working in the fields of Education, Health and Environment and that have experience implementing projects in rural India. Organizations with innovative, replicable and sustainable models, which can make a significant contribution towards rural development in the categories of Education, Health and Environment, are eligible for it. 


Three NGOs, one for each of the three categories will be awarded a grant of INR 5 crores each for a 3-5 year-project. In addition, the remaining two finalist NGOs in each category will be awarded a one-year grant of ₹25 lacs, taking the overall Grant commitment to ₹16.5 crore. 


In the current edition, HCL Grant has made a few changes in its process. From this edition onwards, the eligibility criteria in the Education and Health categories concerning an NGO’s average annual expenditure over the last three years has been reduced from INR 1.5 crores to INR 1 crore. Also, henceforth, NGOs will need to submit only a brief concept note of the proposal in Stage 1 (as per the online format). Detailed proposals will be required only in Stage 2 from the shortlisted NGOs. There will be no charge or fees while submitting the application. No authorized individual, third party, company, agency or organization may accept an application on behalf of HCL Grant or ask for any benefit, either monetary or in kind, for completing the application process. 


In these times of global and national crisis, HCL Foundation, while continuing to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, also reaffirms that the HCL Grant commitment will remain directed towards the objective of achieving sustainable, replicable & scalable rural development, through long-term strategies. The COVID-19 pandemic has opened a range of challenges in rural India, over and above the already prevailing conditions. While HCL Foundation recognizes that the applicant NGOs will take into consideration these challenges, it requests NGOs to ensure that the HCL Grant proposal remains focused on transformational & impactful rural development, in the areas of Environment, Health & Education, through innovative, relevant & cost-effective strategies. 


While applying for HCL Grant Edition VI, it is imperative that the COVID 19 Pandemic situation on the ground should to be taken into consideration. The pandemic has impacted various states and districts differently, and therefore it is critical that the situation assessment is done at micro-meso-macro levels while developing long term solutions towards issues related to Environment, Health & Education in rural belt of India. The NGOs will be treating COVID-19 as the ‘new normal’ till the world finds a permanent solution to it, yet focusing on regular rural developmental areas while taking all measures to contain the spread of the pandemic. This further calls for NGOs to strengthen the aspects of ‘innovation’ and ‘use of technology’ in their HCL Grant application.

Raksha Bandhan 2020: Prepare Lip Smacking Recipes for your Siblings


Raksha Bandhan, one of the most celebrated festivals in India, is just around the corner. Del Monte brings you scrumptious dishes this festive occasion to celebrate with your loved ones by staying at home. Enjoy the festival with your brother or sister and relive old times and create new memories together. 




- 400 Grams Cottage Cheese (Homemade Paneer)

- 4 TBSP Del Monte Tandoori Mayo

- 2 TBSP Peanuts, Coarsely Pounded

- 1 TBSP Lemon Juice

- 2 TBSP Olive Oil

- Salt To Taste


- Cut paneer into long slices measuring around 4”x 1”inches and keep aside.

- In a mixing bowl add Del Monte Tandoori Mayo along with salt, lemon juice, some crushed peanuts and oil. Mix all together with a spoon to make a paste.

- Take paneer slices and coat them well with the prepare mayo mix from all sides.

- Place the coated paneer slices on a plate, cling wrap and marinade for minimum 30 mins before cooking.

- Heat a grill pan or a non stick pan and grease it with some oil or butter.

- Take mini bamboo skewers and insert into the paneer piece from one end.

- Place the skewers on the grill pan and grill from all sides.

- Collect the grilled paneer satay and plate them well on a serving plate.

- Sprinkle some crushed peanuts on top and serve hot with tomato ketchup or any of your favorite dip.







- 4 Big Potatoes

- ¼ Cup DelMonte Mint Mayonnaise

- 3 TBSP Grated Cheese

- 1 TBSP Red Chili Powder

- 1 TBSP Oregano

- 2 TBSP Coriander Leaves (Finely Chopped)

- 1 TBSP Coriander Powder

- ¾ TBSP Dry Mango Powder

- 1 TBSP Cornstarch

- Salt To Taste

- Bread Crumbs For Coating

- Oil For Deep Frying


- Boil potatoes, peel the skin and grate into a bowl.

- Add red chilli powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder, coriander powder, coriander leaves, oregano, and salt to taste. Mix well.

- Mix cornstarch with 1 teaspoon water, whisk well to ensure no lumps are present. Keep aside.

- Take a portion of the potatoes, roll into balls. Make a small hole in the middle. Spoon in Del Monte Mint Mayonnaise and then top it with grated cheese. Take another small portion of the potato mix and cover the mayonnaise stuffed potato balls. Seal well and make sure mayonnaise does not ooze out. Flatten slightly into a disc.

- Whisk the cornstarch once again, dip the cutlets in the corn starch, coat well with bread crumbs, keep aside. Repeat this for the remaining mix. 

- Heat oil for deep frying. Once the oil turns hot, carefully drop a few cutlets at a time. Fry on medium heat until cutlets turn crunchy and golden brown on all sides. Remove from oil and place on kitchen paper.

- Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.





- 10-12 Button Mushrooms,Cleaned,Stems Removed

- ½ Carrot ,Peeled And Grated

- 2-3 TBSP Del Monte Mint Mayo and 1 TBSP Chopped Onion

- Garlic Clove Crushed

- 2-3 TBSP Roasted, Crushed Groundnuts

- ½ TBSP Crushed Black Pepper

- TBSP Del Monte Olive Oil

- Salt To Taste



- To begin making Mushrooms Stuffed with Carrots and Del Monte Mint Mayo, first preheat the oven to 190-degree celsius.

- Lightly grease a mini muffin pan or baking sheet with a few drops of oil and chop the mushroom stems.

- Now In a small pan heat the oil. Add garlic, onion and sauté for a few seconds. Add the carrots and chopped mushroom stem. Sprinkle some salt and sauté for 1 minute or until the vegetable sweat. Take it off the heat.

- Add black pepper and Del Monte Mint Mayo. Mix well.

- Using a spoon fill the mushroom caps with the carrot-mayo mixture. Sprinkle crushed groundnuts over it.

- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the mushrooms are cooked and the filling slightly browns. You can alternatively pan fry the mushrooms using little oil.






- 2 Egg Whites

- 1 TSP Lemon Juice

- 1 CUP Caster Sugar

- 1 CUP Del Monte Cherries

- 1/2 CUP Granulated Sugar

- 1 CUP Whipped Cream



- Start off by beating the egg whites along with lemon juice in an electric mixer on high speed. Keep going until the mixture doubles in volume. 

- With the mixer on high speed, add the castor sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time. Keeping beating until stiff peaks resembling snow-capped mountains are formed. Ta-da! The mix for the meringue is ready.

- Pipe the meringue on a lined baking sheet in swirls to make meringue kisses. Bake these at 100 degrees C for an hour.

- Now it's time to prepare the main topping. Blend the delightful Del Monte Cherries with granulated sugar and cook it in a saucepan, over medium heat. Let it cool for a while. 

- Time to plate up! Take out your favourite dessert glasses, fill it with layers of whipped cream, cherries and crushed meringue kisses and serve.

क्या गुड्डू का मुद्गर पड़ेगा गुड़िया पर भारी?

एण्ड टीवी का शो गुड़िया हमारी सभी पे भारी एक स्लाइस-ऑफ-लाइफ स्टोरी हैं। इसमें गुड़िया (सारिका बहरोलिया) की जिंदगी को लेकर उसके अनूठे नजरिए को दिखाया गया है जो उसके आसपास के लोगों पर हमेशा ही भारी पड़ता है। उसकी शादी उसके माता-पिता सरला (समता नगर) और राधे (रवि महाशब्दे) के लिए परेशानी का सबब रही है। इस शो के नए एपिसोड्स में उसके पड़ोस में एक हैंडसम लड़का गुड्डू (करम राजपाल) रहने आया है, जिसे गुड़िया के माता-पिता पसंद करते हैं। लेकिन गुड्डू को शहर छोड़कर जाने के लिए मजबूर करने की गुड़िया की अलग-अलग रणनीति न सिर्फ गुड्डू को मुसीबत में डालती है, बल्कि गुड़िया के परिवार के लिए भी परेशानी पैदा कर देती है। गुड्डू पर एक बड़ा प्रैंक करने के चक्कर में, गुड़िया उसे बुरी तरह घायल कर देती है। क्या गुड्डू बहुत ज्यादा घायल है या एक बड़ी चोट से बच गया है? यह जानने के लिये गुड़िया हमारी सभी पे भारी के आगामी एपिसोड्स का ढ़ेर सारा ड्रामा देखिये।  


इससे पहले, गुड्डू को पता चल जाता है कि गुड़िया ही वह शख्स है जिसने उसकी कीमती किताबांे को छुपाया था, और अपने पिता के आदेश पर उसने गुड़िया को गिरफ्तार करने के लिए पुलिस को बुलाया है। उसे बुरा लगता है और बाद में वह उसे पुलिस से बचाता है। इस सच्चाई से अनजान, गुड़िया अपनी अजीबों-गरीब हरकतें जारी रखती है। वो लगातार गुड्डू को लगातार परेशान करती है। गुड़िया के माता-पिता इस सबसे काफी शर्मिंदा होते हैं और वो गुड्डू को नाश्ते पर बुलाते हैं। गुड्डू के साथ अच्छे से पेश आने की चेतावनी के बावजूद गुड़िया, गुड्डू के आगे से खाना छीन लेती है। गुड्डू अपनी हवेली वापस लौट आता है, लेकिन वह गुड़िया से गुस्सा नहीं है, बल्कि उसे उसकी चिंता हो रही है। वह अपने नौकर मताई (किशन भान) से अपनी एक योजना में मदद करने के लिए कहता है जहां वो गुड़िया को गुड्डू के पसंदीदा टूल मुद्गर (एक लंबा हथौड़ा) को चुराने में उसकी मदद करता है, ताकि गुड्डु उसे रंगे हाथों पकड़ सके। वह चाहता है कि गुड़िया उसकी इस चाल में फंस जाये, ताकि उसे सच पता चल जाये और वह अपना सबक सीख ले। वह मताई से वादा करता है कि यदि उसकी योजना सफल हो गई, तो वह उसे उसके घर महिलाबाद भेज देगा। मताई उसकी योजना पर काम करना शुरू कर देता है।  


इस शो के नये एपिसोड के बारे में बात करते हुए, गुड़िया हमारी सभी पे भारी में गुड्डू की भूमिका निभा रहे करम राजपाल ने कहा, ‘‘यह एपिसोड एक के बाद एक आने वाले सीक्वेंस के नजरिये से काफी दिलचस्प रहा है। गुड़िया के प्रैंक्स और भी ज्यादा परेशान करने वाले हो गए हैं, जबकि मेरा जो गुड्डू का किरदार है वो उसे एक अलग नजरिये से देखने लगा है। उसे गुड़िया की चिंता हो रही है, इसलिए नहीं क्योंकि वह उसे पसंद करता है, बल्कि इसलिए क्यांेकि वह उसके माता-पिता की बहुत इज्जत करता है। हालांकि, आगे जो भी होने वाला है, वह काफी अप्रत्याशित होगा और यह देखना दिलचस्प होगा कि दर्शक इस पर कैसी प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं।‘‘  


गुड्डू को परेशान करने के बारे में अपने विचार साझा करते हुए, सारिका बहरोलिया, जोकि गुड़िया हमारी सभी पे भारी में गुड़िया की भूमिका निभा रही हैं, ने कहा, ‘‘गुड़िया शुरूआत से ही गुड्डू के सिर पर सवार रही है। लेकिन उसने उसके साथ बहुत ही धैर्य रखा हुआ है। अब शो में एक नई चीज सामने आई है, जहां गुड्डू का दिल गुड़िया के प्रति बदल रहा है। उसके व्यवहार में बदलाव लाने में मदद करने के लिए वो अपनी जान को जोखिम में डालता है। इसे देखकर ऑडियंस भी सदमें में हैं। और ज्यादा जानने के लिए देखते रहिये ‘गुड़िया हमारी सभी पे भारी‘ सोमवार से शुक्रवार रात 8 बजे एण्ड टीवी पर।‘‘


सबकुछ गुड्डू और मताई के प्लान के हिसाब से जा रहा था। उन्होंने गुड़िया को अपने जाल में फंसाने के लिए चारा डाला, ताकि उसे अपनी गलती का एहसास हो। गुड़िया चोरी करने में माहिर है। वह मुद्गर को छुपाने के लिए जाती है, लेकिन धक्का लगने की वजह से वह डगमगा जाती है और मुद्गर गुड्डू के सिर पर गिर जाता है। जिसके बाद तुरंत गुड्डू बेहोश हो जाता है, इससे गुड़िया बहुत ज्यादा डर गई है और उसका पार्टनर इन क्राइम बंटू उससे कहता है कि गुड्डू मर गया है। क्या गुड़िया ने गुड्डू की हत्या कर दी है? इस विफल कार्य योजना के लिए किसे दोषी ठहराया जाएगा?

इस रोमांचक एपिसोड के बारे में बात करते हुए, दरोगा हप्पू सिंह की भूमिका निभाने वाले योगेश त्रिपाठी ने कहा, ‘‘हालात कुछ ऐसे हैं कि कमिश्नर खुद ही मर्डर के एक झूठे केस में फंस जाता है और उसकी आखिरी उम्मीद है हप्पू, जो इस केस का गवाह है। अचानक हुई यह घटना हप्पू के लिए उन्हें इम्प्रेस करने का एक सुनहरा अवसर बन जाएगी। थाना चीफ बनने का उसका सपना तभी पूरा होगा जब वह कमिश्नर को बचा पाएगा। लेकिन जल्द ही हप्पू खुद को एक अप्रत्याशित स्तिथि में फंसा हुआ पाएगा जो उसको गवाही देने से रोक देगा। कई हास्यप्रद घटनायें एक ऐसी स्थिति उत्पन्न करेंगी, जिसमें हप्पू फंस जायेगा। अब यह देखना दिलचस्प होगा कि कैसे हप्पू कमिश्नर को बचाने के लिए आगे आएगा और कमिश्नर को इम्प्रेस करने के अपने सपने को पूरा कर पाएगा?

भगवान शिव के कई अवतारों को निभाने के बारे में बात करते हुए राम यशवर्धन ने कहा, ‘‘कुछ गिने-चुने लोगों को ही अभिनय की बारीकियों को इतनी गहराई से जानने का अवसर मिलता है। ‘कहत हनुमान जय श्री राम‘ में भगवान शिव के अलग-अलग अवतार को निभाने के अनुभव ने मेरे अंदर के कलाकार को जगा दिया है, जिसका मुझे भी नहीं पता था। मौजूदा दौर में बहुत मुश्किल से किसी को भगवान शिव जैसे शक्तिशाली पौराणिक किरदार को निभाने का मौका मिलता है। मैं खुद को बहुत ही भाग्यशाली मानता हूं कि मैं अभिनय के क्षेत्र में इतना कुछ जानने में सक्षम हुआ, जहां मैं महादेव का किरदार निभा रहा हूं और मुझे उनके छह अलग अवतारों को निभाने का अवसर मिला है। सच कहूं तो यह चुनौतीपूर्ण है, अलग-अलग तरह के मेकअप सेशन के लिए कई-कई घंटो तक बैठना और उस गेटअप में खुद को ढालना, यह सब बिलकुल भी आसान नही है, लेकिन मैं ये सुनिश्चित करता हूं कि कैमरे के सामने आने से पहले मैं प्रत्येक अवतार की विशेषताओं को अपने अंदर समेट लूं।‘‘


उन्होंने आगे कहा, ‘‘सबसे चुनौतीपूर्ण हिस्सा है, पर्दे पर हर अवतार को बिल्कुल सही तरीके से साकार करना। एक ओर जहां शिव जी का पिप्लाद अवतार एक वैदिक ऋषि का है जो विनम्र और शांतिपूर्ण है, वहीं दूसरी ओर, उनका दुर्वासा अवतार बहुत ही गर्म दिमाग वाला है तथा उनका वीरभद्र अवतार भयावह और उग्र है। इसी तरह इन सभी किरदारों का लुक भी बिल्कुल अलग-अलग है। सभी अवतार एक दूसरे से विपरीत और शानदार है। इन किरदारों को पर्दे पर देखने के बाद आप इस बात का अंदाजा लगा सकते हैं कि इन्हें पर्दे पर उतारने के लिये मैंने कितनी मेहनत और तैयारी की होगी। मैं बेहद खुश हूं कि मुझे हर एक किरदार को बेहतरीन ढंग से निभाने का मौका मिला। वो अवतार जिससे मैं सबसे ज्यादा जुड़ा हुआ हूं वो है भिक्षुवर्य अवतार। वह सभी मनुष्यों के रक्षक के रूप में जाने जाते हैं। वह दयालु और करुणामयी हैं और इन सभी अवतारों में सबसे अधिक सशक्त अवतार है। यह मेरे कॅरियर का अब तक का सबसे समृद्ध और ज्ञानवर्धक अनुभव है।‘‘

*An evening with the living legend Pt Birju Maharaj and his romance with Kathak*

30th July 2020, National: Prabha Khaitan Foundation, an organization that is dedicated to the socio-cultural welfare and humanitarian cause has through a virtual session of their initiative Ek Mulakat in association with SWAR brought together Kathak maestro Pt Birju Maharaj and his disciple Vidushi Saswati Sen in conversation with the maestro’s granddaughter Shinjini Kulkarni who is also a kathak dancer to take the audience on an enchanting journey of his life, art and work. The Prabha Khaitan Foundation is devoted towards the promotion of performing arts, culture and literature, and collaborates with caregivers, committed individuals and like-minded institutions to implement cultural, educational, literary and social welfare projects in India. Pt Birju Maharaj requires no introduction. His legacy precedes him. Not only in India, the legend is known for his art across continents. Among the numerous other awards such as Kalidas Samman, Yash Bharati and Andhra Ratna, the renowned dancer has been the youngest recipient of Padma Vibhushan Award in dance in 1984. His mastery lies not only in Kathak, but he’s also a vocalist, percussionist, musician, poet, composer, choreographer and painter. Vidushi Saswati Sen is probably the most renowned of Pandit ji’s disciples. She stands tall among her contemporaries in the way she has embellished Kathak by integrating the sacredness of a tradition with the creativeness of a contemporary approach. Vidushi Saswati Sen today is regarded as an artist with immense versatility and talent and one of the best exponents of the famed Lucknow gharana. Shinjini Kulkarni, granddaughter and disciple of the icon has followed in his footsteps and is an accomplished Kathak dancer in her own accord.




Throughout the hour-long engaging session, the maestro reminisced events and episodes from his life that have left a mark on his mind. He spoke on his lifelong love affair with kathak. From thumris to tihaai to bols – the maestro left the audience mesmerized and shared several anecdotes from his various choreographies and performances. Vidushi Saswati Sen also iterated many instances and stories with Maharaj ji from her 50-year-old association with him. Shinjini Kulkarni also spoke of many fond memories from her childhood.




Speaking on his Lucknow connect, Pt Birju Maharaj said, “I still pray that I get to go to Lucknow and work with the people there. Everything about Lucknow is engraved in my brain like an image.”




On his inception of his ideas, he added, “I always like to discuss my ideas with my closest confidants because exchange of ideas is important.” On the art of dancing, he stated, “Dance is beyond gender and age. There is no age limit to when one can start learning if you have the art in yourself. It is not a male or female dominated profession it is about honing your art and surrendering yourself to your guru ji.”




Vidushi Saswati Sen, added, “Maharaj ji is a perfectionist and he expects perfection from his students. However, he always gives his students creative liberty and encourages their strengths. He lets them hone their talent. Maharaj ji never discourages anyone from going out of the box. There are so many things that he has introduced to kathak that was not there in the form before and now it is performed and practiced globally.”




Shinjini Kulkarni, added, “My grandfather is extremely open, and war hearted. He makes everyone feel so comfortable that it is almost impossible to have a formal conversation with him. He has been representing Indian classical dancing in different countries when not many Indian artistes performed abroad. I would like to thank Prabha Khaitan Foundation to allow me to have such a splendid conversation with my grandfather.”




The Foundation’s vision to promote and recognise talent from different walks of life has led them to arrange immaculately curated literary sessions in about 30 cities across the country. मेरा भाई हमेशा मेरे साथ रहा है और उसने पूरी जिन्दगी मुझे सपोर्ट किया है। मैं बहुत सौभाग्यशाली हूँ कि मुझे इतनी फिक्र करने वाला और समझने वाला भाई मिला। कभी-कभी शूटिंग से लौटने के बाद मेरा कुछ खाने का मन नहीं होता है, लेकिन वह मुझे हल्दी का दूध तो देता ही है और बड़े प्यार से खाना खाने के लिये मनाता है। मेरे स्ट्रगल के दिनों में भी मेरे भाई ने पूरे परिवार को संभाला। मैं और मेरी माँ मुंबई में रहते थे, मेरे पिता की पोस्टिंग कहीं और थी और मेरी बहन होम टाउन में थी। मेरा भाई सभी जगहों पर जाता था, हर चीज को मैनेज करता था और सुनिश्चित करता था कि सब ठीक रहें। उसने मेरी पूरी जिन्दगी में एक पिता की भूमिका निभाई है।

*What COVID-19 means for the data breach landscape?*

DELHI: A three-month analysis on the possible impact of COVID-19 on the data breach landscape has shed light on an increasing number of threat actors worrying cyber-security specialists. The Verizon Business study reviewed 474 data breach incidents from March – June 2020 based on contributor data, publicly disclosed incidents and Verizon’s own observations drawn from its collective years of experience. It focuses on 36 confirmed data breaches which were identified as being related directly to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“ In view of the COVID19 pandemic, many large and small organisations have adopted new technologies such as software- as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, increased cloud-based storage and the use of third-party vendors in record time to continue to support their customers. While the SaaS solutions mentioned above, or the cloud itself, are not inherently less secure, however the concern arises from the fact that due to the conditions the pandemic has created, most organizations are adopting them in a hurried fashion, and they are often forced to do so while relying on fewer resources in terms of both personnel and revenue thereby multiplying the risk.. ” said Prashant Gupta, Head of Solutions, Verizon Business. 

The analysis has thrown up an increasing number of commonly seen threat actors, which include:

Increase in Error -- The Verizon Business 2020 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) outlined that almost a quarter of all breaches were due to human error and this trend continues during the pandemic. This is due in part to organizations operating with a reduced number of staff due to illness, redundancies and/or with staff who have limitations due to their remote status. At the same time, these organizations are often experiencing unusually heavy workloads with a much higher reliance on new and unfamiliar solutions that need to be deployed quickly.

Stolen credential-related hacking -- The DBIR shows that over 80 percent of breaches within the hacking category are caused by stolen or brute forced credentials. During the pandemic, this is now being exacerbated by the large number of employees working from home and the maintaining external workstations for remote access, leaning on SaaS platforms. Business IT departments are being challenged to secure company assets on the corporate network while the majority of the workforce is out of the office.

Phishing -- In order to utilize stolen credentials, an attacker must first be able to obtain them and phishing remains one of the most commonly used methods. Prior to COVID-19 the 2020 DBIR flagged that credential theft and social attacks such as phishing and business email compromises were at the root of the majority of breaches (over 67 percent) and this trend has continued. Specific terms in combination with "COVID" or "CORONAVIRUS," such as "masks," "test," "quarantine" and "vaccine” were found to be widely used within the time period. In March, a phishing simulation, conducted by a DBIR contributor, performed on approximately 16,000 people found that almost three times as many people not only clicked through a phishing link, but also provided their credentials to the simulated login page. 

“Businesses need to start taking far greater responsibility in protecting their technology infrastructure. From deploying more robust security protocols to ensuring timely data breach disclosure policies. Once you lose public confidence, gaining that credibility back can often be an uphill task”, said Dr Zaki Qureshy, Founding Father, Hyderabad Security Cluster.

The Verizon Business 2020 Data Breach Investigations Report, analysed 32,002 security incidents, of which 3,950 were confirmed breaches; almost double the 2,013 breaches analysed last year. These cases came from 81 global contributors from 81 countries including the Government of Telangana and the Hyderabad Security Cluster.
