इंदौर, सितम्बर 2020: मध्यप्रदेश के किसानों ने बताया कि डीसीएम श्रीराम लिमिटेड की युनिट श्रीराम फार्म सोल्यूशन्स की ओर से पेश किए गए श्रीराम सुपर 111 सीड से उनकी गेहूँ उत्पादकता बढ़ी है। श्रीराम फार्म सोल्यूशन्स ने किसानों की फसल उत्पादकता बढ़ाने के लिए आधुनिक एवं अनुसंधान-उन्मुख प्रोडक्ट विकसित किए हैं।  


लॉन्च के बाद से ही श्रीराम सुपर 111 गेहूँ बीज मध्यप्रदेश के किसानों में बेहद लोकप्रिय हो रहा है। श्रीराम फ़र्टिलाइज़र्स एण्ड कैमिकल्स के विश्वविख्यात गेहूँ वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा इस किस्म को तैयार किया गया है।

 मध्यप्रदेश के खरगांव ज़िले से एक अनुभवी किसान विजय पटेल पिछले 4 सालों से श्रीराम सुपर 111 गेहूँ बीज बो रहे हैं। पिछले साल उन्होंने अपनी 12 एकड़ ज़मीन में यही किस्म बोई और उनके खेत की औसत उत्पादकता 25 क्विंटल प्रति एकड़ रही।  


इस उत्पादन से वे बेहद खुश हैं क्योंकि उनके खेत की उत्पादकता अन्य किस्मों की तुलना में तकरीबन 3-4 क्विंटल/ एकड़ अधिक है। इससे उनका मुनाफ़ा रु 8000 प्रति एकड़ बढ़ गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस किस्म में बाली की लंबाई और दानों की संख्या अधिक होती है (हर बाली पर 75-90 दाने)। उनका कहना है कि श्रीराम सुपर 111 उत्पादकता और गुणवत्ता दोनों के नज़रिए से बेहतर है।

The WHO estimates the death toll caused by Rabies in India at about 1 lac in the last 5 years with more than 1/3rd (36%) of the total deaths across the globe. *One time option for NPS Subscribers who have partly exited NPS to continue their existing PRAN*

National Pension System (NPS) provides opportunity to its subscribers to invest for their retirement through Pension Funds at a low cost. The beneficial features of NPS are its portability, flexibility, multiple convenient modes of depositing contributions, choice of pension funds, scheme preference, exclusive tax benefits etc. Under NPS, the subscribers are allotted with a Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN), which is unique, and the subscribers can have one active PRAN at any given point of time and hence the subscribers can open a new NPS Account after closing their existing NPS Account. 


2. Under NPS, a subscriber can opt to either prematurely exit or opt for final exit at the age of 60 years or on attaining superannuation or any time later as per regulations. In case of premature exit, up to 20% of the accumulated pension corpus in the PRAN can be withdrawn as lump sum and balance (80% or above) has to be utilized to buy annuity plan from an Annuity Service Providers (ASP) empaneled by PFRDA. Nowadays, PFRDA is receiving a lot of requests from the Subscribers who have withdrawn their lump sum but have not yet availed the Annuity, and those Subscribers subsequently decide to continue the NPS Account. Now these Subscribers have the following options, 


 


A. Open a new NPS account with new PRAN if they are otherwise eligible to join NPS. 


B. Continue in NPS with the same PRAN by redepositing the amount withdrawn earlier (upto 20%), into their NPS account (PRAN). The option of redeposit to continue the existing PRAN can be availed only once and needs to be deposited in one lump sum.


3. The enabling of redepositing the amount withdrawn earlier as referred to above, offers the benefit of preserving the legacy corpus and facilitating further accumulation in an uninterrupted manner to those NPS Subscribers who have partly exited from NPS but thereafter desirous of continuing in NPS with the same PRAN. The copy of the circular issued by PFRDA vide dt. September 23, 2020 enclosed for ready reference.

Goa, September, 2020: FC Goa announced that the club has retained the services of Mohamed Ali after the Goan defender put pen to paper on a new two-year deal.


 


 



Picked in the 10th round of the 2017 ISL Player Draft, the 28-year-old burst on to the scene in the 2017/18 season. Over the 3 seasons with the Gaurs, the man hailing from Caranzalem, Goa made 24 appearances in FC Goa colours, helping the team reach the playoffs in each of the seasons.


 


 


 


Speaking after completing his extension, Ali said, “The last 3 years have been an amazing journey. FC Goa is more than just a club for me. It’s a family. It’s a way of living, representing the very essence of Goa and the way we want to play football. We are on the way up and the next season is going to be another big challenge. Bangalore, September 23: COVID-19 has already cost over USD 11 trillion compared to USD 3 trillion for World War-II, according to a report by Global Preparedness Monitoring Board. Hence, widening Risk Governance, deepening Structural Reforms and Re-Skilling across the enterprises is crucial to empower the 2nd most populous country to overcome the crisis with confidence, as discussed in a BFSI event held recently.


It is about eight months since India detected the 1st COVID Positive case on January 30, 2020. The humanitarian and economic dislocations resulting from the Pandemic have affected life, societies and economies across the world. *Samarthanam Trust announces cash relief for India’s blind cricketers*

Mumbai, 23rd September 2020: In extreme times like now, dealing in kind has its limits but kindness doesn’t. Recognizing that cash in hand is any day, and especially so in the current position, better than providing people with things that may have or many not want, the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, a pan India non-profit organization founded in 1997, with a vision to empower the visually impaired, disabled and marginalized people in India, has come up with a plan to help blind cricketers in India.


 


Almost 600 cricketers from across India, that includes men and women, will benefit to the tune of approximately Rs 35 lakh thanks to the largesse of Give India with whom Samarthanam has tied up to provide the cricketers associated with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). Players of the 24 State teams that took part in the second season of the All India Nagesh Trophy Men’s National Cricket Tournament for the Blind as also players from the seven states that took part in the inaugural Women’s National Cricket Tournament for the Blind will each receive Rs 7,000 (for those in Tier 1 cities), Rs 5000 (for Tier 2 cities) and Rs 4,000 (for tier 3 cities).


 


Take the case of Venugopal Mani, the 32-year-old Blind Cricketer from Badiyadka in Kasaragod district in Kerala, who used to sell lottery tickets when he wasn’t playing cricket. He used to make Rs. 400-500 per day by selling lottery tickets said Venugopal who has been playing for the Kerala blind team from 2013. But this pandemic has put a hold to the South Africa Blind Cricket’s team tour of India earlier in March, took its toll away from the field too. He has to support his wife who is also a blind, a two-year-old son and his aging mother but this pandemic has confined indoors, and he had to borrow loans.


Naturally this cash infusion from CABI and Samarthanam has left him relieved, at least for some time. “This help has come just at the right time for and I am most grateful to both the Cricket Association for the Blind in Kerala (CABK) and CABI as also to Samarthanam. I hope to get back to playing cricket and earn my livelihood soon,” said Venugopal. 


Similar is the case with Sukhram Majhi, another blind cricketer who has represented India. Hailing from Koraput district in Odisha state, he doesn’t have a job and is currently pursuing his studies as a MA student. They are a family of three and have lost his father. His mother, who is also partially blind a daily wage labourer and the only earning member of the family. His mother’s elder sister is mentally challenged and stays together with them.


“Due to the lockdown, my mother lost her job had to depend on the disability pension and they were running out of basic essentials at home and were unable to pay the house rent. I was so grateful when I received financial help from Give India through Samarthanam. The cash assistance couldn’t have been timed better otherwise we would have been in trouble” says Sukhram Majhi.


Shilpa’s story is no different. Having represented Karnataka in the inaugural Women’s National Cricket Tournament for the Blind back in December 2019, the Davangere girl said the lockdown and its consequences had made life very difficult for her and her family.


“My father couldn’t go out to work and so we depended on the free ration provided by the government for BPL card holders. Just as we were getting desperate we received cash from CABI. It came as a great relief and I do hope more people like me will get similar timely support” says Shilpa.


Soon after the lockdown was announced, the Samarthanam Trust started identifying disabled people in dire need of support and chalked out an action plan to implement the relief work. As many as 14 cities are being covered under the relief work, 3.5 lakh meals were cooked and supplied while dry ration kits are being given to 16,000 people with focus on persons with disabilities. Medical equipment such as 32,000 PPE kits and other aids such as pulse oximeters, ICU beds, masks and sanitizers were provided to 12 government hospitals. In addition, about one lakh frontline workers (ASHA workers, Sanitation workers, Anganwadi workers, Police personnel) were supported with masks, sanitizers, medical gear and even sarees (uniforms).


Meantime some of the state associations like Kerala and Delhi announced some cash relief for their players.


“The need of the hour is cash so that each individual can decide for himself or herself what their immediate needs are and use the money accordingly” said Mahantesh GK, the Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam and the President of CABI.


“We wish we could do more but for that blind cricket needs more support from the Union Sports Ministry as also the BCCI. Our cricketers have won four World Cups (two ODI World Cups and two T20 World Cups) and have brought great laurels to the nation. We also conduct our national tournaments and have bilateral cricket series regularly every year thanks to some support from the corporate world but much more needs to be done,” added Mahantesh.

*Children call for Peace at “#ConnectingforPeace” – A Global Virtual Summit*

Hyderabad, 22 September 2020 - Peace needs you, peace has you. Heartfulness Institute hosted a virtual summit on ‘#Connecting for Peace’ to commemorate International Day of Peace in association with United Nations Information Centre, Global Citizens India, Give India, Spirit of Humanity Forum, the Fetzer Institute, Sewa International and Gandhi Foundation. 


 


The event brought together global thought leaders Daaji, Javier Zanetti, Deepak Chopra, BK Sister Shivani, Sharon Salzberg, Mata Amritanandamayi, Bruce Lipton, Amandine Roche, Bob Boisture, Thomas d’Ansembourg, Marta Bassino, and Michela Moioli, amongst others, to discuss the need and role of peace in the world. The event was anchored by actor and director Shekhar Kapur. 


 


The discussion was followed by a synchronized guided meditation broadcast in over 100 countries in 24 different languages. The global session witnessed the advocacy of peace by people from different walks of life – children, students, sportsmen, educationalists, musicians, actors, journalists, and spiritual leaders. The highlight was children of different ages and ethnicities sharing their ideas and understanding of peace. “If I had three wishes, they would be: To have peace all over the world; that all children know their rights; and that all children have an education.” 


 


Welcoming the millions of participants from across the world, filmmaker and actor Mr Shekar Kapur, said, “Peace is something that we all yearn for, and we all have a different understanding of it: It’s peace within ourselves; it’s world peace; it’s the peace of the ecology; it’s the peace inside your heart.”


 


Ms Karen Bjork, a climate change activist, said, “It is because we lack space between our thoughts to actually reflect on the situation; we lack the peace to take the time to reflect and think about where we are heading and how we want to build a better world.” 


 


Mr Thomas d’Ansembourg, a psychotherapist and certified trainer in nonviolent communication explained discipline as a driving force of peace. “We can make peace if we work at it and if we discipline ourselves. It is the way of things,” he said. Mr Mark Milton, Founder, Education 4 Peace organization, said, “Let’s ‘be’ the peace we want to live, with ourselves, with others, and also with the planet.” 


 


Indian music composer Ricky Kej, pianist and composer Mike Herting and flautist Shashank Subramanyam briefly spoke about the harmony that peace and collaboration create. Michel Mouyelo-Katoula, award-winning economist and statistician, said: “Peace means simply love, well-being, harmony. Harmony in my heart, harmony in my entire physical body and beyond it”. Bob Boisture, President & CEO, The Fetzer Institute, suggested that people focus on the connection rather than the separation in today’s world of disconnection.  


 


In conversation with Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness Institute, Argentina footballer and Vice-President of Inter Milan FC, Mr Javier Zanetti, expressed his appreciation of human values and dreams. He said, “I am convinced that human values are what make the difference. One person may be better at something than others, but it is people who make the difference, and the values that they succeed in transmitting.”

Mata Amritanandamayi, popularly addressed as Amma, a global spiritual guide, expressed her wish to see peace spread to every corner of the Earth. “May Mother Nature forgive our mistakes and bless us with a time in which there are no natural disasters. May all of you become messengers of love and peace in this world.”


BK Sister Shivani, Member, Spirit of Humanity Forum, shed light on the ultimate human desire - to be loved, to be happy, and to have peace. “Everyone wants the same, the same vibration because that is the original nature of every soul. And that is why we understand the drop and the ocean. Each one is an individual drop, but we are carrying the same quality as the ocean, and the ocean is the supreme power.”


 


Ms Sharon Salzberg, a meditation teacher, spoke of our actions in this interconnected universe. Ms Amandine Roche, a UN human rights advocate, said: “When I met these Afghan refugees – so noble, so hospitable, so at peace, despite the conflict, despite the violence – they were just radiating peace,” she said, recalling her experiences of working with Afghan refugees which transformed her life.


 


During the session, authors and guides shared their understanding of peace and consciousness. Mr Deepak Chopra, pioneer in Integrative Medicine and Personal Transformation, spoke about the Yamas and Niyamas as the basis of the yogic tradition. Adding to that, he said, “You have actually to do nothing but be peaceful yourself and bring the presence of peace wherever you go. And if you do that, then people around you will feel peaceful, not by what you say, not by what you do even, but just by your presence.” 


 


Concluding the diverse session celebrating the International Day of Peace, Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness Institute addressed the international viewers and peacemakers. Shedding light on the meaning of Peace, he said, “Commonly, we think of peace as only a lack of violence between individuals, whether at a physical, or mental, or emotional level. Yet, even when we are alone, we often find ourselves restless and lacking in peace. When you are not at peace, is it possible to appreciate anything at all? Your restlessness will prevent it.” 


 


Speaking on the peace dynamic, Daaji said, “There is quantum entanglement. Those who are associated with us, on a mental, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual level, get entangled because of this. If you are restless, people who are in resonance with you will feel restless; if you are at peace, they too will feel peace.”


 


The global spiritual guide advised everyone to channel and embrace peace rather than feeling peace. The event ended with a Heartfulness meditation session for participants around the world.

From masks to antiviral, microbes resistant clothing, this year has brought revolutionary trends in the fashion industry. In the spirit of innovation needed for the current times, Allen Solly, India’s leading brand in premium casual wear from the house of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd., has unveiled a novel range for kids titled Virtual Class Collection. The brand has also unveiled a new fun T-shirt song for kids. The campaign focuses on the fun bloopers we have witnessed during the virtual classes and provides a glimpse of the brand-new range of their quirky T-shirts. They feature fun quotes representing school life in the virtual mode which significantly highlights this range.


 


Developed by Ogilvy & Mather, the digital campaign rejoices childhood and demonstrates instances associated to attending school virtually. It depicts the fun part of attending virtual classes and meeting with their classmates. The campaign skillfully features boys and girls dressed in Allen Solly Juniors’ novel, fashionable and comfortable t-shirts, shorts, tops, and dresses.
